100% of cityWILD board members contribute financially to the organization on an annual basis. The full board meets monthly, with committee meetings scheduled in between as needed.

Julie’s background ranges from working in the outdoor industry including working for New Hampshire State Parks and the US Forest Service as well as over fourteen years working with at-risk youth in New Hampshire and Colorado. From 1999 – 2003 Julie was the Director of Youth Services for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center of Colorado before embarking on a career in philanthropy where she still works as a Senior Program Officer for the Gill Foundation. Julie’s detailed understanding of nonprofits makes her an ideal board member.

John has a BA in Economics from the University of Cincinnati and has worked in the finance industry since 1994. John is a strategic thinker, analyst and outside-the-box thinker. He is a youth advocate, member of the Denver Active 20/30 Children's Foundation and former Boys and Girls Club volunteer. John moved to Denver in 1999.

Lisa is a native New Yorker, but she has lived in Colorado since 1991. After completing her Ph.D. in Environmental Policy from Colorado State University in 2003, she moved to Denver. Currently, she teaches at the University of Denver and feeds her passion for the outdoors by taking her students on frequent field trips. Many years of experience in the non-profit sector and in outdoor education combine to make Lisa an enthusiastic board member for CityWILD.

Margarita Colindres

Margarita is a native of Guatemala. Her family immigrated to the United States when she was a child and she raised in Chicago. Margarita has worked with youth since 2002 and has extensive knowledge of Latino culture. Margarita has bachelor degrees in Spanish Literature and Fine Arts and is a certified High School teacher. She is currently pursuing her in MA in Bilingual/Multicultural Education.

Lindsey Hodel

A Missouri native, Lindsey attended the University of Kansas receiving a BA in Journalism. Lindsey has worked as a community organizer in Vermont and San Francisco and has a passion for social-change, social-justice and grassroots fund-raising. She has worked for the Sierra Club, Colorado 501c3 Roundtable and is currently the Organizing Director for the Colorado Progressive Coalition.

Kristin is a native of Minnesota and has been living in Denver for over 10 years. Recently, her and her husband Ken opened KJ’s Coffee Shop in the Whittier neighborhood of Denver. They have two children.

Darrell grew up in Denver, and attended East High School before obtaining a degree from Howard University. He has served on numerous boards. He was introduced to cityWILD when his daughter Aprille joined in 1999.

Tom Shebar

Tom is a New York native who attended Harvard University and then Georgetown University Law Center. Tom moved to Colorado in 1996 after working as a commercial white water river guide and full-time intern and volunteer for Environmental Traveling Companions, a San Francisco-based non-profit organization providing wilderness adventure experiences to special needs populations. Since attending law school, Tom has worked with several prominent national and local law firms, maintaining a practice focused on corporate transactions while also advising non-profit organizations.
