Homework help is an integral part of cityWILD’s program. Increasing grades and keeping students enrolled in school are both programmatic goals of cityWILD. Students receive a minimum of 30 minutes a day of homework assistance – we call it brain time.
cityWILD staff are in regular contact with teachers, social workers and parents to gain a better understanding of a students needs and struggles in school. In. many cases, staff sign off on student homework completion. As well, students are able to access the cityWILD space at anytime staff is present to do research on the computers or get help with school work.
In 2010-2011, 100% of cityWILD students stayed in school while 81% maintained and increased their grades.
