Students who demonstrate great leadership potential have an opportunity to earn positions of prestige and responsibility within the cityWILD program. Crew Leaders are students who have earned a part-time stipend position working as assistant instructors along side our experienced staff. These dynamic young leaders help to plan and lead initiatives, trips, and other aspects of cityWILD’s youth development programming.
For many students, this is their first paid work experience. Crew Leaders learn workforce related skills and responsibilities such as submitting time sheets, workplace etiquette, teamwork, goal setting, work plan management, and contributing their input and ideas to improve program effectiveness.
cityWILD’s 2015-2016 Crew Leaders
My name is Daniel and I’m 15 years old. I’ve been part of cityWILD since I was in 6th grade, which means that this is my fifth year here. Last year I started working for cityWILD as a crew leader. I really enjoy coming to cityWILD because I get to experience the outdoors which is something I love. And one last thing… I’M AWESOME
Well hello there! My name is Gerardo I been with cityWILD for 6 years. I started when I was in 6th grade. Over the past years I learned how to whitewater raft, snowboard, rock-climb, set-up a tent, and make a fire. But what I’m truly thankful of learning here at cityWILD is leadership skills. I’m happy to say that I love my job here at cityWILD.
Hi, my name is Laura and I’m 15. I’ve been at city wild since 2012, but I started working at cityWILD last year. I started at cityWILD as a student. I loved coming to cityWILD because it helped me do things I liked and was a place to get away from things. cityWILD is like my second home, and has shaped part of my identity. I wanted to work at cityWILD to be a part of the program as more than just a student. I also wanted to have a good first work experience and a great place to learn many things.
